IND vs WI 4th ODI: Preview, Team news, TV listing
West Indies leveled the 5-match ODI series with a win, last night at Pune. They will now face India at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, on Monday. Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been enjoying the form of his life, but the middle order is barely putting up a challenge to the opposition, this season. Here is our detailed match preview of the fourth ODI.
West Indies will be running high on confidence
After registering their first victory of the series, West Indies will be confident when they take to the field tomorrow. Shai Hope, Ashley Nurse, Shimron Hetmyer and Jason Holder are in fine form and can cause problems for India in Mumbai. They will look to target India's middle order once again. The onus will be on bowlers to rattle India's top three.
India's batting severely lacking consistency
Except Kohli, no other Indian batsman has been consistent this series, with opener Rohit Sharma performing poorly in last two matches after his brilliant knock in the opener. Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni have not been impressive with the bat. They have failed to provide a solid backup to batsmen up the order. Shikhar Dhawan has also failed to register an impressive total.
Indian bowlers have to step up as well
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were added to the squad for the last three matches, and they will surely be in the XI tomorrow. Kumar bowled an expensive spell in Pune, giving away 70 runs for one wicket. JB fetched four scalps, with Chahal and Kuldeep putting up decent performances. However, for India to win tomorrow, they have to overpower West Indies batsmen.
Key players to watch out for
Virat Kohli's performance will have a big say. He has amassed an unbelievable 404 runs so far in the series. He will be looking forward to slamming a fourth consecutive ton to etch his name in record books. Shimron Hetmyer has now scored a ton and a half-century in the ongoing series and will look forward to producing a brilliant knock tomorrow.
