Ranieri accepts Fulham offer which was rejected by Arsene Wenger
Fulham have fired Slaviša Jokanović and appointed former Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri as their new boss. Reportedly, the job was first offered to Arsene Wenger, who turned it down. Fulham have won just one match and lost nine in the Premier League this season, and it looks quite possible they would face relegation. They are currently the lowest ranked team in EPL.
Jokanović's tactics had gaping errors
Jokanović was not able to produce fruitful results for Fulham even after spending around £100 million in the transfer window. Moreover, his tactics were full of flaws, which only made them look helpless and lose to teams like Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town. It was even believed that the relationship between the manager and Fulham's authorities got strained.
Why did Wenger decline the offer?
Wenger has already made up his mind not to manage any other Premier League clubs after having spent 22 years as the gaffer of Arsenal. However, Wenger confirmed earlier that he is willing to take on a new managerial role. In all likelihood, he is waiting for the right opportunity. Many believe he can become Bayern Munich's next manager if they sack Kovač.
Will miracle-man Ranieri change the fortunes of Fulham?
Ranieri performed a miracle in 2015-16 when he led Leicester City to their first Premier League title in their long history of 132 years. Fulham have surely appointed him keeping in mind, his success with the Foxes. However, it looks difficult that he will suddenly start producing positive results with the lowest-ranked team in the Premier League.
