DC United were up against Orlando City and in the 10th minute of the match, Rooney rolled back the years. The former Manchester United legend scored from inside his own half of the pitch to leave everyone stunned. Rooney caught Orlando goalkeeper Brian Rowe off his line and fired in this beauty after receiving the ball off a deflected clearance.

His work-ethic and determination saw him tracking back to win a tackle and then crossing the ball from deep for Luciano Acosta to score a last minute winner. Rooney first player to score three halfway line goals
Rooney became the first player to score a halfway line goal for every club he's played for. He is done it three times in total. Back in 2013-2014, he scored a screamer with a volley for United against West Ham at Upton Park. In 2017-18, he picked up Joe Hart's clearance and sent it from the halfway line for Everton against the Hammers.
Rooney has excelled for DC United
The 33-year-old Rooney is playing in his second MLS season for DC United. He has been generally impressive since moving from Everton in 2018. The versatile forward scored 12 goals in 21 games in his first season. He has currently amassed eight in 14 appearances this season. DC United are currently third in the MLS table behind Philadelphia and Montreal Impact.
