    Airtel TV app offers free IPL 2018 streaming via Hotstar

    What's the story

    Airtel's video streaming app Airtel TV will offer free, unlimited access to the upcoming Vivo IPL 2018 and Asia Cup 2018 via the Hotstar app.

    For this, Airtel is rolling out an updated Airtel TV app with a dedicated cricket section for easy access to curated content like live match action, scores and match highlights.

    IPL 2018 will be held from April 7-May 27.

    Airtel TV will allow users to follow their favorite teams, keep up with leaderboards and upcoming schedule, and be abreast with the latest updates of the ongoing matches. The new version of the Airtel TV app will also feature interactive games and contests.

    Get on the latest updated version of Airtel TV app

    To be on board with the offer, users will have to install the latest updated version of the Airtel TV app on both Android and iOS.

    Existing users will receive a notification for an automatic app update for the same.

    Non-Airtel users can get on the bandwagon by buying an Airtel 4G SIM card for their smartphones and then downloading the Airtel TV app.

    Hotstar

    Hotstar has a sports-only subscription plan for Rs. 299

    This comes as a part of Airtel TV and Hotstar's content partnership which was announced in February.

    Hotstar has also launched a sports-only subscription plan under which users can get unlimited access to live sports including cricket, football, tennis, and Formula 1 at Rs. 299 for a period of one year.

    Note that content on the Airtel TV app is free until June 2018.
