IPL Auction: Sundar bought by SRH for Rs. 8.75 crore
Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for Rs. 8.75 crore at the IPL 2022 Auction. The emerging superstar started a bidding war among several franchises. Notably, Sundar is the first buy by the Hyderabad-based franchise at the auction. Sundar recently featured for Men In Blue in the ODIs against West Indies.

Sundar made his IPL debut in 2017 for Rising Pune Supergiants. He last featured for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2021. Overall, he has played 42 matches and scored 217 runs. He has also picked 27 wickets at an impressive economy of 6.94.

In a career spanning over five years, Sundar has played as many as 98 T20 matches. He has snapped up 74 wickets at an average of 28.77. Sundar has an impressive economy rate of 6.76 in the shortest format. The all-rounder has also hammered 866 runs at an average of 20.61 so far. The tally includes two half-centuries.
