IPL 2019: SRH welcome back David Warner on his arrival
Australian cricketer David Warner will look to show his influence for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Warner missed IPL 2018 after being banned by the BCCI, who followed the sanctions imposed on him by Cricket Australia. His 12-month ban is set to end on March 29 and Warner will be eager to give his all.
Fans excited to have Warner back
Warner, who led SRH to glory in 2016, got fans excited on social media outlets after he was welcomed by the franchise on his arrival for the pre-season camp. Warner was seen sporting a heavy beard and had a smile on his face. Fans will be hoping to see Warner in the best of touches with the bat in IPL 12.
Warner is back for the Orange Army
SRH open their campaign against KKR at Eden
The 2018 finalists will open their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on March 24. Warner will need to sit out of the tie and SRH may also miss Kane Williamson, who suffered a minor shoulder injury in recent times. These two are expected to don the batting responsibility once the season progresses. Williamson was the top run-scorer in IPL 11.
Warner will look ahead to make things count
Warner would have been eligible to play for the national team in the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan since his ban would be lifted from March 29. But, Cricket Australia selectors want both Warner and Steve Smith to earn a comeback into the ODI line-up. Therefore, the IPL 12 season, will be massive for these two cricketers to gain solid practice.
Can Warner continue to score the runs for SRH?
Warner played superbly for SRH in IPL 2017 and was the highest run-scorer with 641 runs at 58.27'. He led SRH to the playoffs as well. The two-time Orange Cap winner will be looking to get as many runs as possible and stake a claim for a berth in Australia's World Cup squad. Warner also battled an elbow injury and looks set to shine.
