Waqas Maqsood to debut for Pakistan in T20Is against Australia
Pakistani pacer Waqas Maqsood has impressed one and all with his domestic performances. And the selectors have rewarded him with a call-up to the national T20I squad. He has replaced veteran pacer Mohammad Amir in the squad, which will take on Australia in a 3-match series. Pakistan, in their 15-man squad, have made several changes. Read on to know more.
How have been Maqsood's performances?
In 55 first-class matches, Waqas Maqsood has picked up 225 wickets, with 10 five-wicket hauls and the best figures of 12/41 in a match. He also grabbed attention with his performances for Pakistan A against New Zealand A. The 30-year-old left-handed bowler has also played 40 List A matches, taking 63 wickets, at an average of 26.84.

What are the major changes made in the squad?
Imad Wasim, the all-rounder, has grabbed a spot in the squad. Notably, he failed to break through into the Test squad after failing the fitness test. Mohammad Hafeez has returned to the squad, which is led by Sarfraz Ahmed. Surprisingly, Muhammad Irfan Jr and Junaid Khan, the two promising individuals have been excluded. Interestingly, Junaid had replaced Amir in the Asia Cup.
