The most aggressive batsman of all time
Sehwag was in a league of his own
Viru's impact in the game cannot be described by statistics. He was a different breed altogether. A lot of credit goes to Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir for providing the foundation and allowing him to play in the manner which suited his style. Sehwag was a fun cricketer who used to crack jokes and sing songs before hitting sixes with ease.
'Multan ka Sultan' was India's first ever triple centurion
Sehwag thrived in Tests and his aggressive style terrorized even the best bowlers. Two triple tons in Tests helped etch his name along with legends like Sir Don. His 309 versus Pakistan was the first triple ton ever by any Indian. After this landmark, he came to be known as 'Multan ka Sultan'. His 195 against Australia in a single day's play was majestic.
Sehwag was a real deal in ODIs
Sehwag defined his mastery of domination throughout his career. If he was a legend in the Test cricket arena, his contributions cannot be ignored in ODIs. He was the second Indian to hit a double century in ODI cricket and played several memorable knocks. Sehwag was also part of the 2011 ICC World Cup side and deserved to be a world champion.
