This information was recently revealed by Fortune India magazine. Kohli's tax contribution amounted to a substantial ₹66 crore, securing him the fifth position among all celebrities. The list was led by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who paid ₹92 crore in taxes.
Dhoni and Tendulkar among top tax-paying cricketers
MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, remained the second-highest taxpayer among cricketers for FY24 with a contribution of ₹38 crore. Legends Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly also made significant contributions, paying ₹28 crore and ₹23 crore, respectively. Therefore, they are third and fourth on the list of taxpayers among sports personalities.

The incumbent stars, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant also featured on the list of top taxpayers. They contributed ₹13 crore and ₹10 crore, respectively, in taxes for FY24.
