This is Kohli's 53rd international century
With this innings, Kohli has slammed 21 Test centuries and 53 international hundreds. The Indian skipper has scored 53 international centuries in the least number of innings. This is also his 24th triple figure number, since taking over the captaincy of the Indian national team. Kohli has also become the second Indian Captain, after Sachin Tendulkar, to score a Test century in South Africa.
4th fastest to score 21 Test tons
Kohli is now the 4th fastest player to hit 21 Test hundreds. He reached the landmark in 109 innings, one less than Sachin Tendulkar. Only Steven Smith (105 innings), Sunil Gavaskar (98 innings) and Don Bradman (56 innings) have achieved the feat in fewer innings.
Kohli is a "serial record breaker"
As of now, Virat is India's most consistent performer overseas. The right-handed batsman boasts of the record for the most Test hundreds by an Indian captain away from home, with 7 to his name. He achieved the feat in 22 innings. Azharuddin is next captain on the list with 5 hundreds followed by Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, who both have 4 to their names.

With today's century, Virat Kohli has converted 90s into a ton, 16 times in a row. He now holds this amazing record along with Sunil Gavaskar, who achieved it during 1978-1983. The next on this list is Mohammad Azharuddin with 14 consecutive conversions.
