Team India defeated Australia in the second ODI of the three-match series in Adelaide on Tuesday. With this win, India leveled the series at 1-1. Marsh continued his prime form with the bat in this ODI series. After scoring 54 in Sydney, the southpaw got to his seventh career ODI hundred. Marsh has the joint-most ODI hundreds (4) for Australia in the last two years. He has also scored four of Australia's last five ODI hundreds. It was also Marsh's second ODI hundred against India.
Siraj notches an unwanted record on debut
Mohammed Siraj conceded the second most number of runs by an Indian bowler on ODI debut (76/0). Siraj had also conceded the second most number of runs by an Indian on T20I debut (53/1) versus New Zealand, Rajkot, 2017.
Dhoni notches 16th career ODI stumping against Australia
MS Dhoni recorded his 16th career ODI stumping against Australia. He has the most number of stumpings in his career against Sri Lanka (24). Dhoni now has 116 career stumpings in ODIs. He also took one catch to see his career tally rise to 311. Rohit Sharma, who hit two sixes in his 43-run knock, now has 210 career ODI maximums.
Virat Kohli smashes 39th career ODI hundred
Indian captain Kohli smashed his 39th career ODI hundred. The 30-year-old notched his sixth career ODI hundred against Australia. It was Kohli's third ODI ton against Australia at their own backyard. Kohli also amassed his 18th ODI ton away from home. Kohli, who shared three 50-plus stands in this match, is now the 11th highest run-getter in ODI cricket. He went past Tillakaratne Dilshan.
India script second highest successful run chase in Adelaide
This was the second highest successful run chase at the Adelaide Oval. The highest is 303/9 by Sri Lanka against England in 1999. Australia suffered their 12th loss in their last 15 ODI matches. India have won their 10th ODI in their last 12 matches.
