While speaking at the captains' media day in London, he revealed how marriage impacted his captaincy.
Kohli tied knot with Anushka Sharma in December 2017
Along with his game, Kohli has been a media favorite for his relationship with actress Anushka Sharma. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on December 11, 2017, and since then, media just can't get enough of the two. So, it didn't come as a shock when the question connecting his marriage with captaincy popped up at the ICC event.
I have become a lot more responsible: Kohli
Kohli said, "You become more responsible (after marriage). It's very different from the responsibility you had in your life. You start understanding things much better and you start putting things into perspective a lot more." The star cricketer claimed marriage changed him completely. "It's only improved my captaincy and me as a human being and as a player," he added.
Ironically, Anushka was blamed for Kohli's poor performance in WC'15
Although Anushka has always been Kohli's biggest cheerleader, people on social media haven't been kind to her. The actress was blamed for Kohli's poor performance in the ICC World Cup 2015. Some called her a "distraction" and she was brutally trolled.
Meanwhile, Kohli also revealed his favorite player from rival teams
Moreover, when asked to pick up a player from any other team, Kohli chose Faf du Plessis. He explained that the South African skipper leads from the front and it is close to his perception of the game. Interestingly, for their first match of the World Cup, Virat and co. will be facing South Africa in Southampton on June 5.
India entering as title favorites, country roots for third win
Further, the Indian team will be entering the competition as title favorites and all the fans back home are rooting for the team to lift the trophy for the third time.
