Dinesh Karthik-led Tamil Nadu managed 252/9 in 49.5 overs. Abhinav Mukund slammed a 110-ball 85. Baba Aparajith 66. Abhimanyu Mithun (5/35) claimed a stunning hat-trick. Karnataka needed to be positive in the chase given the conditions. They lost Devdutt Padikkal (11) early on. However, an unbeaten 114-run stand between Rahul and Mayank helped a solid Karnataka outfit.
Five-star Mithun claims several records
Mithun became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in Vijay Hazare Trophy final. The 30-year-old pacer also became the first player with a List A hat-trick for Karnataka. The pacer also became the second player with hat-tricks in both Ranji and Vijay Hazare Trophy. Murali Kartik was the first bowler to do so. This was his first five-wicket haul in List A cricket.
Karnataka get closer to TN with fourth trophy win
This was Karnataka's fourth Vijay Hazare Trophy win. They are one behind Tamil Nadu (5). This was the first loss for Tamil Nadu in a Vijay Hazare Trophy final. They had a 100% record earlier.

Paddikal ended up as the highest run-scorer in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy (609). Rahul (52*) slammed his fifth fifty in the tourney. He ended as Karnataka's second-highest run-scorer (598). Tamil Nadu's Mukund ended as the second player to notch 600 runs. This was his fourth fifty in this year's edition. Mithun claimed 20 wickets in total and was Karnataka's highest wicket-taker.
