Meanwhile, the investigators feel that severe financial burden, relating to his TNPL franchise VB Kanchi Veerans, could be the reason for it. The franchise, that has been playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, ever since its inception in 2016, was owned by the former cricketer.
Chandrasekhar's wife said he was depressed due to financial losses
Investigating officer Inspector Senthil Murugan said that Chandrasekhar's wife had knocked on his door, but there was no response. As she peeped through the window, she saw him hanging from the ceiling. "She also informed us that VB was depressed due to the losses that he had incurred in his cricket business," said Murugan.

Former Tamil Nadu captain Subramanium Badrinath was shocked to hear the news, as he said that Chandrasekhar was the man who brought him to CSK in the IPL. Former Indian skipper Krishnamachari Srikkanth too expressed grieve at Chandrasekhar's demise as he recalled the day the latter took apart ROI bowlers like Sanjeev Sharma and Narendra Hirwani. He dubbed Chandrasekhar as a great entertainer and a friend. "I have opened with him so many times and shared a great camaraderie with him during our commentary stints in recent years," said Srikkanth.
Chandrasekhar made a great impact as an attacking batsman
Chandrasekhar was well-known for his attacking style of batting, as he played seven ODIs for India. He was also a member of the 1987 Ranji Trophy-winning Tamil Nadu team, while he later also played for Goa, before becoming a national selector, state coach and commentator. He also smashed the then fastest First-Class century, off 56 balls, during the 1988 Irani Trophy, against ROI.
