US Open: Frances Tiafoe survives Kovacevic test with four-set win

American star Frances Tiafoe beat his countryman Aleksandar Kovacevic to start his 2024 US Open campaign.
The former was pushed to the fourth set before claiming a 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win in an all-American clash at the Louis Armstrong Stadium.
Frances has reached the second round at the US Open for the fifth successive year. He played the quarter-final last year.

He reached the milestone in his 47th main-draw appearance.
However, Jannik Sinner defeated Tiafoe in the summit clash.
