The US Open 2018 starts Monday, as the year's final Grand Slam is all set to cap off a terrific year of tennis. The men's singles show sees Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer go in as favorites. All three have won one Slam each this year. In the women's draw, all eyes will be on Serena Williams. Here are the updates.
Murray in line to face Juan Martin del Potro
Andy Murray has, fortunately, avoided some big names in the opening matches. He opens his campaign against Australia's James Duckworth. Murray, who is making a comeback to the sport post injury, is ranked 378th in the world. The Scot is in line to face third seed Juan Martin del Potro in the third round. He got a direct entry because of his protected ranking.
Federer, Djokovic drawn in same quarter
Federer and Djokovic are in line to face each other in the quarter-finals. Djokovic is eyeing a 14th Slam with Federer looking to extend his tally to 21. Federer opens his campaign against Yoshihito Nishioka. Djokovic is lined up against Marton Fucsovics of Hungary. Rafa faces David Ferrer in the first round. He could face Federer or Djokovic only in the final.
