IPL 2018: The most embarrassing records over the years
The Indian Premier League has given fans plenty to cheer about, with players and the teams setting several splendid records. But the game, on the other hand, has also seen several instances of records that do not read well. As the IPL enters its 11th season, we look at some of the worst records in the mega cash-rich tournament.
RCB scored the lowest total in the history of IPL
In 2017 edition, Royal Challengers Bangalore scripted the worst ever team total in the history of the IPL. The side were bundled out for a paltry 49 runs by Kolkata Knight Riders. In pursuit of 132 runs, no RCB batsman even reached the double figure mark and they were bowled inside 10 overs. RCB's 2nd lowest total is 70 against Rajasthan Royals in 2014.
Delhi guilty of featuring twice in lowest total list
Delhi Daredevils have an unwanted record when it comes to lowest scores in IPL. In the top five low scoring affairs, DD find themselves twice in the list. They scored 66 and 67 in two different matches in the same year (2017).
Compilation of worst records in IPL
Deccan Chargers hold the record of most extras bowled in a match (28) against KKR in 2008. In 2013, Ishant Sharma delivered the worst bowling performance when he conceded 66 runs in 4 overs against CSK. Harbhajan Singh holds the record for most ducks in IPL (13). He is followed by Parthiv Patel (12) KXIP bowled the most wides (19) against Kochi in 2011.
DD have suffered the most losses in IPL history
When it comes to losing matches in IPL, nobody knows it better than Daredevils. The franchise bears the record of losing most matches (82) in 10 seasons. Delhi have also never reached the final of IPL.
