Lacklustre Manchester United secure second place

    What's the story

Manchester United were held to a goalless draw by West Ham United in the penultimate game of their Premier League campaign.

There were some heated moments but apart from that, it was a dull affair.

The draw secured United's second-place finish which is nine points and four places better than last season.

This Jose Mourinho's second year at the club.

    Old foe

David Moyes is yet to get the better of Mourinho

David Moyes has never beaten Jose Mourinho in the Premier League in 11 attempts.

This is the most he's faced a particular manager without ever winning against him in the competition.

It might just be a second place finish, but this is Manchester United's highest position in the Premier League since Sir Alex won them the league in 2012-13.

    Dull affair

Jose Mourinho's sides are masters of defence

Manchester United have kept more clean sheets than any other Premier League side this season with 18 to their name.

Manchester United have drawn 19 games 0-0 since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of the 2012-13 season.

This is the most by any club in the Premier League.

Southampton too have drawn 19 games (0-0) since the 2013 season.

    Redemption

Manchester United are still in the hunt for FA Cup

Manchester United might have finished second in the Premier League but they still have a chance to make their season better by winning the FA Cup.

The Red Devils will lock horns with Antonio Conte's Chelsea on May 19 in Wembley.

This fixture was surely the perfect audition for who all will make the playing XI for the Wembley final.
