Do you know Rafael Nadal holds these unbreakable records?
Rafael Nadal is one of the legendary tennis players of Open Era. He can definitely be considered one of the GOATs. Over the years, he has dominated on clay like no one else in the history. He has the second-most Grand Slams. In the process, he has scripted some amazing records, a few of which seem unbreakable, as we take a look at them.
Best percentage of wins across platforms
Nadal, to date, has scripted the best win percentage across platforms. Starting with the number of matches won, he has a 944-195 win-loss record, with a win percentage of 83. While he has a win percentage of 87 in the Grand Slams, he has an astonishing win percentage of 98 in the French Open. He also has the best win percentage on clay (92).
Most titles in a single season as teenager
Nadal was a sensation ever since he was a teenager. Notably, he won 11 titles in a single season as a teenager, which also included his maiden French Open win in 2005. As a result, he went past Max Wilander's record of nine titles.
Longest winning streak on clay
Everyone knows Nadal loves to play on clay, and his record 11 French Open titles prove it. He might even win his 12th today. As a result, he scripted the longest winning streak on clay, between April 2005 and May 2007, when he won 81 consecutive matches. Overall, he also has the most number of title wins (58) on clay than any other professional.
A number of records as a career slam winner
Nadal is the fourth player in the Open Era to complete a career Grand Slam, after winning the US Open in 2010. Aged 24, he also became the youngest player to achieve that feat. He also took the least number of Slams (26) to achieve the feat, while Roger Federer and Andre Agassi took 41 and 46 Slams each.
A Slam per year
Post his maiden Grand Slam win in 2004, Nadal managed to win a Slam every year, for nine seasons in a row. While it is an Open Era record, it would be extremely difficult for any other professional to emulate such record.
