In terms of all-time appearances in the competition, Messi is sixth on the list. He needs two more games to go past former Real Madrid star Raul (142 matches).

In the 2014-15 edition, Messi held the distinction alongside Neymar and Ronaldo. Messi is second on the list for most goals in a single campaign after Ronaldo (7).
