UCL: Dybala's brace helps Juve throttle Barcelona
Paulo Dybala scored twice in Juventus' 3-0 win over the visiting Barcelona side, in the first leg of UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The Argentine forward eclipsed his compatriot Lionel Messi on the night, to score two brilliant first-half goals. Adding to the Catalan giants' woes, the third goal was scored by Giorgio Chiellini's header from a corner in the second half.
Longest unbeaten UCL home run for Juventus
Including the win over Barcelona, Juventus have been undefeated at home in 18 Champions League matches. It is their longest unbeaten run in the competition. The Italian side have also won their last 32 home games in Serie A.
Another mountain to climb for Barcelona
To progress into Semis, Barcelona are yet again left with another huge hurdle to overcome. While the away defeat to Juventus was reminiscent of their disastrous first-leg loss to PSG in the last-16 tie, Barca's captain Andres Iniesta believes that they can still reach the Semis. Barca came back from a 4-0 deficit against PSG, to win 6-5 on aggregate in the return leg.
A score to settle
With a crucial second leg left to play at Camp Nou on 19 April, Juventus will not relax despite the 3-0 home win as Dybala has warned against any complacency on their part. The Italian side will be determined to settle old score, for their loss to Barcelona in 2015 Champions League title clash in Berlin, which was when the two sides met last.
