UEFA Champions League: Preview and predictions of mega fixtures tonight
Champions League weeks are always thrilling, and it cannot get better than tonight, as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Dortmund, and Liverpool will be in action. There are several questions that might be bothering you, will Messi play? Will Atletico stage a comeback? Will PSG exit from the group stage itself? Read and find out all about it here.
Atletico will host Dortmund tonight, how are things shaping up?
The first leg saw Dortmund ripping apart Atletico's defenders and scoring four past them, despite being without the services of Paco Alcácer. Lukasz Piszczek and Mario Götze could start for Dortmund after being rested in their league match against Wolfsburg. Alcácer might return as well. Diego Godin, Koke, and Diego Costa will miss out, but Simeone has confirmed he will not change Atletico's playing-style.
Wanda Metropolitano is special this season
Wanda Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid's home stadium, will be hosting the final of the UEFA Champions League this season. The final is scheduled to be held on June 1, 2019.
Red Star will clash with Liverpool
Red Star Belgrade will host Liverpool, but it seems highly unlikely they will be of much threat to Jurgen Klopp's highly talented, high work-rate performers. Dejan Lovren and Naby Keita are back to the squad and will take part in the action. Known for its hostile environment, Red Star Belgrade's coach expects the home stadium to be the biggest advantage for them.
Will Napoli stop PSG from entering the knock-out stage?
PSG have been phenomenal in Ligue 1, but the Champions League has not brought them much joy yet. They are third on the table with four points and if Napoli win tonight, PSG will have a hard time qualifying for the knock-out round. Except Dani Alves and Kurzawa, PSG will boast of a full squad, while Chiriches and Verdi remain unavailable for Napoli.
Finally, will Messi play tonight? Find out right here
Barcelona and Inter Milan will meet at the San Siro, and Ernesto has confirmed that though Messi has been included in the squad, he is unlikely to play the whole match. We believe Messi will come out if Barca are desperate for some magic. Inter will be high on confidence after routing Genoa 5-0 while Barca's defense remains a concern.
Result predictions for tonight's fixtures
Atletico Madrid might fight harder, and with the home advantage, should be able to hold Dortmund at bay. It is unlikely Liverpool will stumble upon a defeat tonight, they are surely going for an all-out attack against Red Star. PSG will fight hard, but Napoli might just make it through the match with a win. Barcelona can win if their defenders step up.
