2018-19 UEFA Champions League: Records scripted on match-day 4
The second half of the Champions League's match-day four was really exciting. It has also given us a clear picture regarding how the teams stand ahead of the last two matches of the group stage. United create history at Turin with a 2-1 victory
Manchester United scripted history by becoming the first club in nine years to defeat Juventus in a UCL group stage match at their home. United came back to win from behind, in the last five minutes of a match, for the first time, since their victory against Munich in the 1999 UCL final. Ronaldo's strike saw him ending a 453-minute UCL-goal drought.
Manchester City run riot over Shakhtar, win 6-0
The 6-0 victory saw City stopping their three-match streak of losing Champions League matches at home. This was their biggest victory ever in all European competitions, and the first time they scored 6+ goals in consecutive matches since 1987. David Silva has scored three Champions League goals this term, which is his best tally ever. He has also scored in three successive UCL fixtures.
Real Madrid were unstoppable against Plzeň, won 5-0
The match saw Karim Benzema score his 200th goal for Real Madrid, becoming the seventh player to do so for Los Blancos. This was the first time since 2015 that Plzeň conceded defeat in three successive fixtures of a major European competition. Gareth Bale has now been involved in 10 goals in the last 8 Champions League group stage matches.
