Liverpool, PSG or Napoli: Which club will qualify?
In the UEFA Champions League, this term, Group C has been the toughest to predict. Even after all the teams have played four matches, the table is still wide open and anybody can qualify for the next round. Napoli and Liverpool are on six points each, followed by Paris Saint-Germain, with five points, and Red Star Belgrade with four. Which two teams will qualify?
Liverpool face a tough challenge tonight
After having lost their clash against Red Star, Klopp's men are under pressure to make the best of their remaining two matches. On Wednesday, they face a tough challenge as Liverpool will be visiting the Parc des Princes for their encounter against Paris Saint-Germain. Napoli sit on the top of the table despite Liverpool having the same points, as Napoli won the head-to-head tie.
How can Liverpool seal their spot?
If Liverpool defeat PSG, they will seal their spot in the round-of-16. If they draw against Paris-based outfit, Liverpool need to perform as good as, if not better than them in the remaining matches. If they lose against PSG but win by two clear goals against Napoli, Liverpool would still qualify. Draw against PSG and loss to Napoli will put things beyond their control.
How can PSG qualify?
If Liverpool win against PSG and Napoli defeat Red Star, things will not look great for the Parisians. A draw or a victory in the match against Liverpool can boost their chances of a spot in the next round. If Liverpool are defeated by both PSG and Napoli, Tuchel and his boys will smoothly sail into the next round.
How will Red Star and Napoli qualify?
Napoli are the current table-toppers and most likely to qualify for the round of 16 at the earliest. If they win against Red Star and PSG lose to Liverpool, a spot in the next round is guaranteed. Red Star's qualification looks most unlikely, as they will have to defeat Napoli to keep themselves in the fight, but can try for a Europa League spot.
