IPL 2024: Travis Head has fallen to spinners five times
Sunrisers Hyderabad's Travis Head has been hammering the bowlers left, right, and center in IPL 2024. Head has given SRH some blistering starts alongside his opening partner Abhishek Sharma. The former has struck at over 200 so far. Head will once again have the spotlight as SRH take on Gujarat Titans in Match 66. GT could lay a spin trap on him in Hyderabad.
Head against spinners in IPL 2024
It is worth noting that spinners have dismissed Head five times in nine innings in IPL 2024. His strike-rate against spinners falls to 176.82 compared to an uncanny 213.18 against pacers. Therefore, it won't be a bad idea to introduce spin early in the Powerplay. Notably, Mumbai Indians leg-spinner Piyush Chawla is the latest player to dismiss Head this season.
Rashid, Noor pose a threat to Head
It is important to note that three of Head's five dismissals have come against wrist-spinners. GT have two astute wrist-spinners in the form of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad. The Titans would want the duo to go all out against Head.
Noor dismissed Head earlier this season
Noor dismissed Head in the previous match between SRH and GT in IPL 2024. He choked the Australian batter before knocking him over. Meanwhile, Head has fallen to Rashid once in two T20 innings. He scored 17 runs off 12 balls at a strike-rate of 141.66 against the Afghan spinner. Head is yet to take Rashid to the cleaners.
