Champions Trophy: Towhid Hridoy slams his maiden ODI hundred

Bangladesh made a stunning comeback in the second match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against India, courtesy of stellar knocks from Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali.
While Ali was dismissed for 68, Hridoy went on to smash his maiden ODI ton.
The match is being played at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.
Despite losing five wickets in the first 10 overs, Bangladesh managed to post 228/10 in the game.

A stunning stand between Hridoy and Ali
Hridoy joined forces with Ali in the ninth over and the two youngsters showcased remarkable character.
They batted brilliantly in the middle overs and added 154 runs for the sixth wicket.
While Jaker Ali was dismissed for 68, Towhid Hridoy made a stunning hundred.
The latter also added some vital runs with tail-enders after Mohammed Shami dismissed Ali in the 43rd over.

Shami and Rana strike early for India
After winning the toss, Bangladesh had chosen to bat first against India in this crucial Champions Trophy match.
Shami and Harshit Rana picked a wicket each in the first two overs of the match, with Shami getting another later on.
The early strikes from India's bowlers made things difficult for Bangladesh.
Axar Patel then claimed two wickets in an over, reducing the Tigers to 35/5. Notably, Shami went on to take a fifer.

Hridoy, who went down as the last batter, made 100 off 118 balls (6 fours, 2 sixes).
This was his maiden hundred and overall the eighth 50-plus score in the format.
