Europa League, Mislav Orsic's hat-trick floors sorry Tottenham: Records broken
A sublime hat-trick from Mislav Orsic helped Dinamo Zagreb overturn their 2-0 deficit from the first leg to beat Tottenham 3-2 on aggregate in the Europe League. The 3-0 win for Zagreb helped them complete a remarkable second-leg turnaround. Tottenham were poor on the night and paid the price. The match went into extra time as Zagreb scored the important winner.
Orsic's brilliance helps Zagreb stun Tottenham 3-0
After a goalless first half, Orsic handed his side the opener with a wonderful strike from the edge of the box. In the 82nd minute he swept home Iyayi Atiemwen's cross to bring the tie level in Zagreb. Orsic then added a superb third at the start of the second period of extra time, firing a fine finish into Hugo Lloris' bottom corner.
Unwanted record for Mourinho
As per Opta, this was the third time Jose Mourinho has lost a match in European competition by a three-goal margin, with two of those coming with Spurs (also versus RB Leipzig in March 2020) and another with Real Madrid (versus Borussia Dortmund in April 2013). Meanwhile, Spurs have won just five of their 11 away games across all competitions in 2021.

Dinamo Zagreb have progressed from each of their past three knockout ties in major European competition in which they lost the first leg (also versus Ajax in 2007-08 and Viktoria Plzen in 2018-19). They also registered their third victory at home to an English side in European competition, after wins against Arsenal in 2015 (Champions League) and Leeds in 1967 (Inter-Cities Fairs Cup).

Dinamo Zagreb's Mislav Orsic has been directly involved in seven goals in his past five Europa League games (five goals, two assists). Orsic has now become the first Dinamo Zagreb player to score two hat-tricks in major European competition, also netting one in last season's Champions League versus Atalanta.
