Football Transfers: Barcelona want Manchester City's rising star
Barcelona want Manchester City's rising star while United and Arsenal are battling it out for Tottenham's forward. Chelsea have launched a bid to acquire a new defender, in order to please their soon-to-be manager. On the other hand, Jose Mourinho is eyeing a new centre back. Here are all the top transfer rumors and news from today's European papers.
United and Arsenal chase Son
Manchester United and Arsenal are keen on signing South Korean international Son Heung-min from Tottenham Hotspur. Interestingly, the forward is likely to cost them at least €70 million. Son has two years left on his Spurs contract and might be interested in taking his career to the next level. However, Spurs are unlikely to sell to rivals Arsenal.
Premier League and La Liga clubs monitor Rafinha
Barcelona mid-fielder Rafinha is weighing up his options after Inter Milan decided not to exercise their right and make him a permanent signing. Rafinha spent last season on loan in Italy. He would have cost Inter €38 million, but the Italian giants were not interested in signing the Brazilian footballer. Notably, certain Premier League and Spanish clubs are monitoring Rafinha.
Manchester City wanted Marco Reus
Manchester City, reportedly, wanted German international Marco Reus in their ranks. However, the injury-prone forward has decided to sign a new deal with Dortmund instead. Reus has spent the last couple of years on the sidelines due to recurring injuries. His new contract runs until 2023, and we don't expect City to make a formal offer.
Chelsea launch £35 mn Rugani bid
FA Cup winners Chelsea have made a £35 million offer for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, as per reports in England. Chelsea's 'soon to be' manager Maurizio Sarri has identified Rugani as the top target. Chelsea have offered to double Rugani's wages in an effort to convince the 23-year-old centre-back to shift base to London.
Manchester United keep close watch on Bonucci
Manchester United are interested in AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci. Bonucci moved to AC Milan last summer but the club cannot comply with UEFA's financial fair play regulations. As a result, they could be forced into selling some of their players. Jose Mourinho is waiting to swoop the 31-year-old if AC Milan are forced to sell.
Barcelona want City's Gabriel Jesus
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are interested in signing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus . The Catalan giants are eyeing two more signings before the new season begins. Since Antoine Griezmann decided to stay at Atletico, Gabriel Jesus has become the next best alternative. However, City will not be willing to let go off their rising star.
