Football Transfers: Paris Saint-Germain eye yet another Barcelona superstar
Paris Saint-Germain are contemplating doing another raid on Barcelona while Real Madrid have devised a plan B if they don't get Neymar. Manchester City have brought in reinforcements from Leicester City while Carlo Ancelotti is eyeing a reunion with Angel Di Maria. Here are all the top transfer rumors and news from today's European papers.
Paulinho parts ways with Barcelona
Brazil mid-fielder Paulinho has returned to the Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande, just 11 months after € 40 million move to Barcelona. The 30-year-old had raised several eyebrows when Barcelona had signed him last summer. However, he had a successful time at the Camp Nou scoring 9 goals while bagging 3 assist in 49 games for the Spanish champions.
Manchester City table £60 mn Mahrez offer
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is convinced that Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez is all he needs for the next season. The Citizens have tabled a £60 mn offer for the former Premier League Player of the Year. City were close to signing the 27-year-old in January. However, they couldn't complete the deal. Mahrez will undergo his City medical on Tuesday.
Napoli eye PSG's Di Maria
Napoli manager Ancelotti wants a reunion with Di Maria, whom he has previously managed at Real. He wants to bring the Argentine to Napoli and has offered him a three-year contract, where he will be paid €5 million/season. Angel Di Maria has just one year left on his PSG contract and with big names linked with PSG he could be on the move.
Hazard is Madrid's Neymar alternative
Chelsea star Eden Hazard is Real Madrid's alternative if they fail to sign Neymar this summer. Hazard has already told Real Madrid what they should be doing to sign him, hinting that he is open to a possible move from Chelsea. But with Neymar being their primary target, we don't see Florentino Perez giving up on his dream transfer easily.
PSG table €270 mn Coutinho bid
In a massive coup, Paris Saint-Germain are ready to raid Barcelona once again. They have set their eyes on Brazil mid-fielder Philippe Coutinho. Notably, Barcelona have signed Coutinho from Liverpool, just months ago. The 26-year-old had a brilliant World Cup campaign with the Selecao. He is believed to have a €400 mn release clause. But it seems PSG don't mind breaking the bank.
