Football: Asensio, Costa, Fekir could be on the move
Liverpool are keen to bolster their attack while Real Madrid are trying to keep poachers away from rising star Marco Asensio. Manchester United are ready to spend big bucks after falling short in the Premier League title race and are already nearing in on two big signings. Here are the top rumors from European papers.
Liverpool zero in on Nabil Fekir
Champions League finalists Liverpool are looking to add another attacker and have identified Lyon's star forward Nabil Fekir as the primary target. As per reports, The Reds want to sign the French international before the World Cup in Russia. A stellar performance in World Cup can further increase Fekir's demands. The 24-year-old has scored 18 goals for Lyon in Ligue 1.
United close in on Fred and Alderweireld
Manchester United want Shakhtar Donetsk mid-fielder Fred and Spurs centre-back Toby Alderweireld, according to reports in Mirror. Like Liverpool, United are also looking to wrap up the deal before the World Cup. Fred is likely to cost the Premier League giants a whopping £52 million, while Alderweireld's transfer deal would be in the range of £45 million.
Vidal wants to go back to Juventus
If reports are to be believed, Arturo Vidal is now keen to return to Juventus in the summer. The Chilean rose to fame during his 4-year stint with the Old Lady of Turin. Vidal's contract is set to expire next summer. Hence, it makes more sense for Bayern to cash on the 31-year-old this summer instead of losing him for free.
Manchester United want Douglas Costa
Manchester United are set to splash big bucks to land Bayern Munich's on-loan forward Douglas Costa. The Brazilian is currently with Juventus and the Italians can exercise their right to purchase him for £33 million. However, Manchester United are willing to make a £79 million offer to Bayern Munich for the 27-year-old.
Real Madrid turn down offers for Asensio
Real Madrid have reportedly turned down two offers of €150 million for rising star Marco Asensio as per his agent. Both the offers were from the English Premier League clubs. Several clubs have set their sights on the 22-year-old. Asensio has been a key member in Real's squad, making 32 La Liga appearances this season while scoring 6 goals.
