TNPL 2018: Anil Kumble's Spektacom technology to make its debut
Technology in cricket is making leaps and bounds and another innovation is on its way. 2018 Tamil Nadu Premier League is embracing a new technology, which is owned by former India spinner Anil Kumble. This new innovation is known as Spektacom technology. It will be used to analyze the batting by converting a normal bat into a smart one using a sticker. Here's more!

What will the technology be used for?
The technology will be used for tracking the bat speed, power. Further, it will give an indication on whether the ball has hit the sweet spot of the bat or not. It is operated using a sticker which needs to be put on the bat. This sticker converts the normal willow into a smart bat. The sticker has in-built sensors which monitor important parameters.

The legendary cricketer thanked the league for giving Spektacom an opportunity to make its debut. The league, in itself, has garnered a lot of attention in the south and is becoming a popular brand. Kumble cited the technology will gain popularity as millions will be viewing it on television. This would be the 3rd edition of the Tamil Nadu League.
All you need to know about TNPL 2018
The season 3 of Tamil Nadu League will kick-off from July 11 at Tirunelveli. The final will take place at M Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on August 12. Chepauk Super Gillies are the defending champions. Eight teams will be participating in the month-long tourney. The matches will be shown live on the Star Sports network. Matches will start from 7:15 PM.
