PUBG or PlayerUnknown's Battleground tests gamers' survival skills in an intense tactical Battle Royale. Unsurprisingly, a variety of weapons come handy as hundred players enter in solos, duos or squads. One of the most overlooked weapon categories is throwables. Most pro-gamers use them as a distraction, stealth approach or to flush out enemies. Here are five tips for using throwables.
Types of throwables and how to use them
PUBG offers various throwables which include the frag grenade, stun grenade, smoke grenade, and Molotov cocktail. These items spawn naturally on the map. The two key essentials to remember for throwables, are the buttons assigned to it, and selecting the right spot for maximum impact.
Make those grenades bounce
One of the best (as well as worst) features of grenades is their bounce. Players can take advantage of walls and windows to send grenades to the desired spot if they can calculate bounce angles. However, if they miscalculate, the grenade might blow up close to them, causing damage. Notably, the Molotov doesn't bounce so players need to get in good positions before throwing.
You can run, but you can't hide
Stun and frag grenades are excellent to flush out hiding enemies and for ambushes. If you notice players take cover somewhere, lob either of the grenades. The stun grenade will disable them, giving you a window of opportunity to shoot them. Frag grenades damage enemies and as they exit the cover in panic, you can shoot them. Grenades are best when you are outnumbered.
Know when to use grenades
Grenades take some time to aim, throw and detonate. If you see opponents rush into a place, wait a few seconds to see if they are coming out. If not, toss the frag or stun grenades immediately. Alternately, smoke grenades are great to cover yourself up, so use them in intense firefights, or if you plan on looting a supply crate in open areas.
The clock runs out on you and enemies
Once a grenade pin is pulled, players have around five seconds to throw the grenade before it explodes in their hands. Not only would this waste the item, but could damage players. Thus before pulling the pin, players must be sure of where they want to throw it. However, once the grenade lands, enemies will take damage irrespective of their level of armor.
Anytime, anywhere, you can blow them up
PUBG in its effort at realism has made underwater shooting extremely difficult. Many players often gloat how they won matches by staying underwater and avoiding being shot. However, grenades work just fine underwater. If you notice an enemy, mark their location, and toss the grenade. The damage from grenades and need for oxygen will drive them to the surface, where you can shoot them.
