Andy Murray breaks down into tears after victory
Andy Murray broke down into tears after beating Romanian Marius Copil in a three-set encounter at the Washington Open. Murray prevailed 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 to set up a quarters battle against Alex de Minaur. An emotional Murray stated that he may not play his quarters match owing to the timing issue as the body won't recover. Here's more!
Andy Murray is still recovering
Andy Murray is playing only his third tournament since he suffered a hip injury in January 2018. The three-time Grand Slam champion has reached the quarter-final of the Washington Open and is looking to win his first title on comeback trail. But things have not been conducive for Murray as matches are going past 3 AM in USA with little time to recover.
What did Murray claim post the match?
Murray stated that not playing further is the right thing and tournament organizers could now face intense scrutiny for their 'bizarre' scheduling of matches. "I don't know how players are expected to recover. Not playing, potentially, is possible," said Murray in his post match conference. He also said that finishing matches at 3 AM in the morning is of no help to anyone.

Murray cannot take further chances
Murray is currently ranked 832nd in the world and the win over world number 93 Copil is encouraging. It remains to be seen whether he will turn up for the next encounter or not. Since playing consecutive matches is taking a toll on his body, Murray cannot take chances, given he has recently recovered. Murray will hope things ease up for him.
