Five wrestlers who were blacklisted by WWE
Wrestlers, who are phenomenal in-ring, always reserve a special place in the hearts of fans. They are often called back by WWE by making them sign a special legend's contract. However, in the long history of the company, bad blood is bound to be created between WWE and certain wrestlers, whom the company blacklists. Here are five such wrestlers, blacklisted by WWE.
WWE has decided never to talk about Chris Benoit again
Chris Benoit tragically passed away in 2007. After murdering his wife and son, he committed suicide. When the details of his death were not known, WWE paid a homage to him on Raw. However, once it was revealed that he had murdered his family, WWE decided never to talk about him again. McMahon, himself, addressed the fans and revealed the decision.
The myth around 'Macho Man' Randy Savage saw him fired
It is one of the biggest wrestling myths that has never been publicly addressed by WWE. As per rumors, Randy Savage was involved in an affair with Vince McMahon's then-teenage daughter Stephanie, in 1993. Savage's sudden departure from the company in 1994 has been conjectured as a result of McMahon's anger with him for getting involved with his teenager daughter.
Can't save your job if you attack the boss
Kevin Wacholz debuted as Nailz, an ex-convict, who was subject to torture by Big Boss Man, while in prison. His career started off well. He was even involved in a feud with The Undertaker. However, he attacked McMahon in his office one day and choked him violently. Soon after, he was fired. Lawsuits followed, with Kevin accusing McMahon of forcing him to take steroids.
CM Punk spoke out against WWE, resulting in his ostracization
CM Punk is one of the most polarizing figures in pro-wrestling, and his Pipebomb promo has become stuff of legends. But Punk's deviancy was not a one-off case, with him blowing the top several times, along with on-screen insults to Triple H and the McMahon family. WWE fired him on his wedding day, with Hunter and Stephanie being furious with him for his behavior.
Chyna was blacklisted after Triple H and Stephanie started dating
Chyna's story is the most tragic as she was blacklisted due to no fault of hers. When the McMahon/Triple H storyline began, Chyna was engaged to Triple H. It was later discovered that Hunter was cheating on her with Stephanie McMahon. When she took the matter to Vince, she understood that the situation couldn't be salvaged. Chyna quit WWE and entered the pornographic industry.
