Five weirdest rules, which WWE wrestlers have to follow
WWE, though is sports entertainment, has strict rules and regulations which wrestlers have to follow during a match or a promo. This ensures everything hoes smoothly during the live broadcast of the programs. Even though several rules make sense and should be implied, others are completely bizarre. Here are the five weirdest rules, which WWE wrestlers have to follow.
Match discontinues after a cut
Before the PG-13 era began, WWE had a lot of gore and blood in some of its matches, but all of that disappeared when they went forward to please children and make their program children-friendly. Now they have a strict no-blood policy, and the rule is that if there is bleeding, the match immediately halts, and only if the blood stops, the match continues.
Vince implements the dress code everywhere!
In another weird rule, WWE stars need to be nicely dressed whenever they step out into the public. It has been known that McMahon never appreciated stars who dressed casually even outside the WWE, and insisted that they are always representing the brand when they are outside. He has also created a code of conduct in this regard.
Social media posts need approval
WWE does not even allow their wrestlers to post anything on their personal social media accounts without prior consent from the company. This has been done so that wrestlers do not post anything that might reflect negatively upon the company. And with personal videos and images of WWE stars getting leaked often, WWE has even informed every one of their staff regarding cyber-security.
There are numerous words WWE officials and stars can't use
WWE has a list of banned words which commentators can never use. A recently leaked document online listed numerous synonyms of certain words the commentators cannot use. "The words you choose are important. They can build or bury someone. There is a difference between 'Cena was upset by this and asked for a rematch' and 'Cena was furious and demanded a rematch'."
WWE stars need written permission to do these things
Weirdly, nowadays WWE stars cannot use things like the steel chair without prior written approval from the management. These are tricks, which the company uses to promote heat for their heels and thus it has to make sure that such moves are not being overused. WWE stars can also not use low-blows without prior written consent.
