Decoding bowlers with best economy rates in T20 WCs
West Indies and USA will co-host the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. As the T20 format is known to be dominated by batters, bowlers will have their task cut out. Meanwhile, the past eight editions of the T20 WCs have been graced by several prominent bowlers. Here are the bowlers with the best economy rates in T20 WCs (Minimum: 25 wickets).
Ajantha Mendis - 6.70
Former Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis gave hard times to the best of batters. In T20 WCs, he claimed 35 wickets in just 21 games at a jaw-dropping economy of 6.7, as per ESPNcricinfo. He claimed 6/8 versus Zimbabwe in the 2012 game in Hambantota. These are the best figures by a bowler in a T20 WC match.
