World's first international T-10 League to kick off in December
Top international cricketers are all set to compete with each other in the very first international T-10 Cricket League, scheduled to be played in December at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. The 10 overs a side tournament will be first of its kind, and will feature cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi and Kumar Sangakkara.
The format
Each team will play only 10 overs, the match will get over in just 90 minutes and will feature fast pace action. The tournament will be played over four days.
120 players up for auction?
More than 100 players from around the world will be up for grabs at the auction and the final look of the squads will be firmed up on 25th October. The six teams participating in the tournament are Maratha Arabians, Punjabi Legends, Bangla Tigers, Keralites King, Colombo Lions and Pakhtoons. Shahid Afridi has been confirmed as the skipper of Pakhtoons.
A tournament full of entertainment?
The fans will not only get to see thrilling matches, but there will also be performances after every over. There will be dance offs between team dancers, along with acrobatic performances, live music, celebrity crowd interaction to keep the crowd entertained.
Afridi, Morgan excited about the tournament
During the launch of the tournament, Shahid Afridi said, "When I was told of the idea I was thrilled and requested that I want to play." Eoin Morgan seemed a lot confident about the concept and said, "The whole concept is exciting. If this new idea takes off then I am sure it will also impact the other forms of the game."
