IPL 2018: Suresh Raina ruled out of next two matches
Veteran southpaw Suresh Raina has been ruled out of Chennai Super Kings' next two IPL games due to a calf injury. Raina will sit out of the ties against Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals on April 15 and 20 respectively. This comes as a big blow for table toppers CSK as Raina is a vital cog in the wheel for Chennai.
Raina picked up the injury in the tie against KKR
Raina suffered his calf injury in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders at home, which his side went on to win by five wickets. He also received medical assistance from the team physio during the tie before he got dismissed for 14 runs. Raina's injury comes after CSK's Kedar Jadhav was ruled out of IPL 2018 due to hamstring problems.
CSK will hope to handle issues
The IPL 2018 leaders will hope to replace Raina with du Plessis or Murali Vijay. As per reports, both players have recovered from injuries. What hits them hard the most is losing their home venue over Cauvery water protests. CSK have built a fort here and the yellow army support will be missed. They will now want to utilize their strengths at Pune's ground.
