Post Warner ban, Sunrisers Hyderabad appoint Williamson their new captain
NZ skipper Kane Williamson has been appointed as the new captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the IPL 2018 season. Williamson, who has been a pivotal part of SRH for a couple of seasons now, comes in as the franchise's stand-in skipper. He replaces David Warner, who was banned by BCCI from IPL 11 due to his role in the ball-tampering incident.

Will SRH go the distance under Kane?
SRH became a consistent unit under David Warner, who led them from 2015-2017. Warner's absence will be missed badly given what he brought both as a skipper and a batsman. This, in turn, makes Williamson's job difficult. His first real test is to find a suitable replacement for Warner. He has captained New Zealand well in recent years and is respected by his players.
