Sunil Narine displaces Alex Hales for most ducks in T20s
Sunil Narine posted an unwanted record in T20 cricket. The veteran Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder was dismissed for a first-ball duck against Mumbai Indians in Match 60 of the Indian Premier League 2024 season at Eden Gardens on Saturday. Narine, who has been KKR's best batter this season, suffered a rare failure. He has now recorded the most ducks in T20 cricket.

Playing his 510th T20 match, Narine was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah off the first ball in the second over. With this dismissal, Narine now owns 44 ducks in T20 cricket. As per ESPNcricinfo, Narine broke a tie with Alex Hales, who owns 43 ducks. Afghanistan and Gujarat Titans spinner Rashid Khan (42) is the third player to post 40-plus ducks in T20s.
16th duck for Narine in IPL
Narine now owns 16 ducks in IPL history. He matched the tally of Piyush Chawla. The likes of Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell and Rohit Sharma (17 each) have more ducks in the competition. Meanwhile, Narine clocked his third duck versus MI in the IPL.
