Chhetri was prompt in his reply as he said that he is a 'Bangalore boy' and would favour Royal Challengers Bangalore in that debate. 'I'm a Bangalore boy. That should answer your question,' Chhetri said.
Government to issue fresh advisory on April 15
India's Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju on Thursday cleared the air about the upcoming IPL edition. He reiterated that any decision regarding India's cash-rich league will be taken after April 15, when the government issues a fresh advisory. In India, over 250-plus positive coronavirus cases have been reported. Meanwhile, five people have lost their lives.
IPL was postponed from March 29 to April 15
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 was set to start from March 29 onwards. However, the coronavirus outbreak brought an uncertainty regarding the competition. According to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, there is also a possibility of having the tournament truncated.
The safety of citizens is of utmost importance, says Rijiju
"After April 15, the government will come up with new advisory. BCCI is a body that looks after cricket. It is not the question of the sporting event alone, but a question of the safety of citizens. Such events include thousands of spectators," Rijiju said.
