    Tabor Athletics Meet: Hima Das, Muhammad Anas win gold medals

    What's the story

    Indian athletes enjoyed a good day at the Tabor Athletics Meet, as their campaign continued to take shape.

    19-year-old sprinter Hima Das won the 200m race while clocking 23.25 seconds. Meanwhile, Muhammad Anas also did well to win the men's 400m race.

    Anas won in 45.40 seconds. Other Indians also enjoyed podium finish.

    Improvement

    Hima has been improving with each race

    Hima showed improvement as she is inching towards her personal best of 23.10 seconds.

    This was her fourth gold medal this month.

    Since her first race, Hima is constantly trying to improve on her timing.

    Hima shot to fame when she won the 400m at the World U-20 Championships 2018.

    Meanwhile, Hima's compatriot VK Vismaya finished second with a season best of 23.43 seconds.

    Performances

    How has Hima performed in the races this month?

    In her first competitive race this month, Hima clocked 23.65 seconds at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland.

    She then bettered her mark at the Kutno Athletics Meet in Poland with a timing of 23.97 seconds.

    Her third gold medal came at the Kladno Memorial Athletics Meet at Kladno, Czech Republic.

    She clocked 23.65 seconds this time around.

    Hima yet to qualify for World Championships

    Hima's main event is the 400m and at the moment she is yet to qualify for the World Championships. The qualifying time for the World Championships is 23.02 seconds in 200m and 51.80 in 400m.

    Anas

    Anas continues to excel in 400m

    In the men's men's 400m race, India's famed athlete Muhammad Anas clinched the gold medal.

    The likes of Tom Noah Nirmal came second with an effort of 46.59 seconds, whereas, K S Jeevan finished third (46.60 seconds).

    A few days earlier, Anas had qualified for World Championships by clocking 45.21 seconds at Kladno.

    He was well ahead with the qualification time being 45.30 seconds.
