FA Cup, Manchester United trounce Derby: List of records broken
Manchester United showed composure and steel to outclass Derby County 3-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The win helped United reach the quarters after Odion Ighalo scored a brace. Former United skipper Wayne Rooney performed well for the hosts, however, it wasn't enough. United will face Norwich City next. Here is the complete statistical review.
How did the match pan out?
Luke Shaw gave United the lead in the 33rd minute. His deflected shot saw the side take control. Ighalo then showed why United went for him in January with two superb goals in the 41st and 70th minute. For Derby, Rooney came close with two superb free-kicks, which were denied by goal-keeper Sergio Romero. Rooney's name was chanted by the away United fans.
