IPL: SRH defeat RR, who is the winner and sinner?
Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets to register a victory in their maiden match of the Indian Premier League 2018. In pursuit of 126 runs, SRH chased down the target comfortably as Shikhar Dhawan scored a fifty. SRH rode on an all-round show at home and this will give them confidence. Here we analyze the winner and sinner of the match.
SRH's fielding unit the winner of the game
In this fixture, there were a number of brilliant performances by SRH players. However, it is their fielding unit that stood out. SRH fielded like tigers and the collective performance makes them the winner. D'Arcy Short's run-out by Williamson started the rout. Rashid Khan took an excellent catch to dismiss Rahane. Khan's catch to dismiss Samson at deep-cover was the highlight of the night.
Ajinkya Rahane is sinner of the match
Rahane's outing for RR did not go as per his plans. Rahane missed setting the platform atop while batting, as he was unlucky to get caught out at the deep. However, his biggest sin was dropping a sitter while standing at first slip. Dhawan nicked Dhawal Kulkarni straight to Rahane at a decent height, and the latter dropped it.
Key highlight of the match
Dhawan and Williamson's 121-run unbeaten stand was the highlight of the game. After Wriddhiman Saha's dismissal at 6/1, the duo took the challenge on themselves and stitched a commendable unbeaten century stand and see their side past the line.
