Sunrisers Hyderabad have qualified for playoffs in these IPL seasons
Sunrisers Hyderabad are one of the consistent teams since coming into the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2013. The 2016 IPL champions reached the playoffs in 2024 for the seventh time. From 2016 to 2020, SRH earned a playoff ticket every season. They misfired in the last three seasons but under new skipper Pat Cummins, they hit the right chords. Here are further details.
Eliminator - IPL 2013
In their debut season in 2013, SRH did an able job to finish fourth in the nine-team table. Kumar Sangakkara was the skipper but his poor form led to him losing the captaincy midway to Cameron White. SRH claimed 10 wins and six defeats from 16 matches (NRR: +0.003). They lost to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator.
Champions - IPL 2016
After finishing sixth in 2014 and 2015 respectively, SRH went on to win the 2016 title. David Warner, who was appointed skipper in 2015, was the season's second-highest scorer. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the Purple Cap. SRH finished third in the eight-team table (16 points). They beat KKR in the Eliminator before overcoming Gujarat Lions in Qualifier 2. SRH beat RCB in the final.
Eliminator - IPL 2017

Warner won the Orange Cap. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar picked up another Purple Cap. SRH became the second team after CSK in 2013 IPL to win both Orange Cap and Purple Cap.
Runners-up - IPL 2018
The IPL 2018 season saw Warner miss out with a ban as Kane Williamson took charge. The Kiwi star scored an emphatic 735 runs to win the Orange Cap. SRH finished second in the league stage with 18 points from 14 matches (W9 L5). CSK beat SRH in Qualifier 1. The latter downed KKR in Qualifier 2 before losing the final to CSK.
