List of sporting events scheduled in May 2018
As the summer begins to heat up, the world of sports too will turn on the heat with some of the biggest blockbuster events scheduled to take place across the globe. The Indian Premier League, the Champions League, Formula One, you name it, the month of May has it all. Here is the schedule for all the tournaments lined up in May 2018.
The Indian Premier League
The eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League has already reached the halfway mark thus intensifying the competition. By now we know which team is in good form and who has a chance to make it to the playoffs. The playoffs will begin from May 22 and the grand finale of the 2018 IPL will take place on May 27.
The Champions League and German Cup
The first week of May will begin with the second leg of Champions League semi-final to decide which teams will make to Kiev. The grand finale of the showpiece event will take place on May 26. There will be some cup action in Germany as well when Bayern Munich take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the final of the German Cup on May 19.
Barcelona and Monaco Grand Prix
The motor-sport world is set for an exciting month with two Grand Prix scheduled in the month of May. After the physically and mechanically taxing race in Barcelona on May 13, the action will shift to Monaco on May 27, where the driver's skill will be put to the test on the narrow streets of the tax-free province of France.
The French Open
Tennis also is set for some exciting action on clay. The month would begin with the Madrid Open on May 6 which will then be followed by the Italian Open on May 13. After the perfect start to the clay season, the first round of 2018 French Open will get underway in Roland Garros on May 27.
