    List of sporting events scheduled in July 2018

    What's the story

    July is filled with several sporting activities and fans have plenty to look forward to.

    The FIFA World Cup continues up till July 15, as the business end of the tournament is set to begin.

    In cricket, India will lock horns with England.

    Further, Roger Federer will look to defend his Wimbledon title.

    Here is the list of sporting events scheduled in July 2018

    Wimbledon

    Tennis: Federer, Halep lead Wimbledon charge

    2018 Wimbledon started today as fans enjoyed the Round of 128 matches.

    The grass event sees 20-time Slam winner Roger Federer being seeded as the men's number one player.

    2018 French Open winner Simona Halep will start as the top seed in the women's section.

    The tournament ends on Sunday, July 15.

    Limited-over

    India tour of England: T20Is and ODIs battle in store

    India gear up for three T20Is starting Tuesday, July 3.

    The second T20I will be played on July 6 before the third game on July 8.

    The first two matches start at 10:00 PM IST while the third game is scheduled at 6:30 PM IST.

    Both sides then square up for three ODIs. The first ODI will be played on July 12.

    Action

    West Indies play against Bangladesh

    West Indies host Bangladesh for two-match Test series starting Wednesday, July 4.

    The match is scheduled for a 7:30 PM IST start.

    The second Test match will begin from July 12.

    Both matches can be watched live on the Sony Ten network.

    These two sides, then, gear up for the 3-match ODI series from July 22-28.

    Tri-Series

    T20I Tri-series: Zimbabwe, Pakistan and Australia

    The T20I Tri-series has already started from July 1 with Pakistan beating Zimbabwe in the opener.

    The matches will be played until Friday this week before the final is held on Sunday.

    Pakistan then take on Zimbabwe in a 5-match ODI series starting July 13 up till July 22.

    All matches will be telecast live on Sony SIX.

    Badminton: Thailand and Indonesian Open

    In the world of badminton, the Thailand Open starts from July 10 onwards and will continue till July 15. The tournament has a prize money of $350,000. It will be followed by the Singapore Open from July 17-22.

    FIFA World Cup 2018: All you need to know

    At the ongoing FIFA World Cup, Brazil face Mexico and Belgium take on Japan on Monday, July 2.

    England and Colombia gear up for their knock-out game on Tuesday alongside Sweden vs Switzerland.

    The quarters will be played on Friday and Saturday.

    The semis will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

    The final is slated for July 15.
