Mathews struck his maiden fifty in World Cup 2019. The veteran Lankan star scripted his 38th career ODI half-century. This was his second World Cup fifty in his 14th inning. Mathews now has 5,475 ODI runs under his belt. He went past former Aussie legend Mike Hussey (5,442) and Ian Bell (5,416) in terms of career ODI runs.
Malinga surpasses 50 World Cup wickets
Lasith Malinga was top notch for Lanka with the ball. The veteran Lankan pacer now has 51 World Cup wickets. He became the second Lankan to do so after Muttiah Muralitharan (68) and the fourth overall. Malinga surpassed Chaminda Vaas' tally of 49 scalps. He also raced to 330 career ODI wickets.
Joe Root smashes a host of records
Joe Root (57) became the third batsman to surpass the 400-run mark in CWC 19 (424). Root slammed his third fifty in World Cup 2019 and this was his fifth 50-plus score in six innings. This was also his third World Cup fifty. Root became the sixth England player to surpass the 600-run mark in World Cup (626). He overcame Alex Stewart (606).

Archer becomes joint-highest wicket-taker in CWC 19
Jofra Archer (3/52) is now the joint-highest wicket-taker in World Cup 2019. Archer equalled Mitchell Starc's tally of 15 wickets. Archer has now claimed eight wickets from short balls in the ongoing World Cup. That's the most by any bowler.

Jonny Bairstow (0) registered his third golden duck in ODIs this year. Mark Wood (3/40) is now the highest wicket-taker for England in ODIs this year (21). Malinga now has 19 ODI wickets in 2019. That's the most by a Lankan bowler. Ben Stokes slammed his second fifty in CWC 19. This was his 17th career ODI fifty.
