#GamingBytes: Spider-Man has the saddest Easter egg in history
Spider-Man on PS4 has already engrossed fans, and many are trying to find hidden Easter eggs in the game. And, one of the Easter eggs has a really sad story behind it. Ironically, it should have been the sweetest hidden moment in-game, and a fitting climax to a modern day love story, but it has ended in disaster. Read all about it here.
The rosy goggles of love
Tyler Schultz, a fan of the game, had reached out to Insomniac Games on Twitter asking to include his proposal to his girlfriend Maddie. Surprisingly, both Insomniac and Marvel agreed, stating who were they to say no to love. They put it on a theater marquee. Schultz said his idea came from his ex-girlfriend who wanted to be proposed to, in a big convention.
Nothing, especially love, is set in stone
Every rose has its thorn
The game developers and Schultz worked out the details and the game was launched with the heart-warming Easter egg. However, Schultz informed the world that he had been jilted by his girlfriend of five years, a few weeks before the game came out. She left Schultz for his brother and it turns out she did not want to be proposed through a video game.
Laugh and cry, cry and laugh about it all again
On hearing the news, Art Director of Insomniac, Jacinda Chew, offered a new patch changing the sign. At first, Schultz wanted it unchanged hoping someone else would use it to propose. However, he now wants it to have his recently deceased grandmother's name. She had ignited his love for Spider-Man by gifting him the first comic. Oh well, every cloud has a silver lining.
