The final Test at the SCG ended in a draw.
SCG Chairman Tony Shepherd congratulated India for their victory.

'Test cricket is well served having both'
"The SCG congratulates Team India for securing its first Test series win on Australian soil," Shepherd was quoted by the official website of the SCG.
He praised the two for playing a significant role in Test cricket.
He added, "Virat and Ravi have been at the forefront of that and Test cricket is well served having both placing such significance on the five-day format."
